Mrs. Juanita Ann Slice Tindal, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, at her home surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Left to cherish Mrs. Juanita’s memories are her children, Cleo Baron Tindal and his wife Dot, Claudia Ann Hoffman and her husband Mark, and Tina Marie Padgett and her companion David “D. J.”, grandchildren: Travis Baron Tindal, Michael Anthony Davis, E8 Master Sgt Justin Ray Jernigan, U.S. Army and his wife Nicole, Katelyn Marie Taylor and her husband Neal, Allison Nicole Hoffman, Mark Travis Hoffman and his wife Jaimie, Tabitha Marie Padgett Sharpe and her husband Randy, great grandchildren: Chandler Tindall, Zoey Tindall, Kadence Tindal, Kenzlie Tindal, Keegan Surratt, Sadie Davis, Macie Davis, Austin Jernigan, Halle Blevins, Jameson Jernigan, Colton Jernigan, Kirra Wise, Kennedy Taylor, Koen Taylor, Kypton Taylor, Dakota Brown, Payton Brown, Brooke Hoffman, Brantley Hoffman, Mia Hoffman, Landon Hoffman, Madalyn Padgett, Collin Padgett, and Randy Lane Sharpe, siblings and in-laws: Maryann Hornsby, Margaret Senn and her husband Larry, Johnny Slice and his wife Cathy, Bobby Slice and his wife Joanne, Nila Ann Gantt, Tommy Slice and his wife Sandi, and Voncile Jeffcoat, her four-legged baby, Lil Bit, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Juanita was born on July 7, 1949, in Lexington County, to the late Braudis Johnny Slice and the late Nila Maybell Furtick Slice. She is the widow of Claude Baron Tindal, they were married for forty-five years until his passing in 2009. She is also preceded in death by two of her grandsons: Jason Blane Tindall and LCpl Timothy Lane Padgett, USMC, son-in-law, Lane Padgett, siblings: Betty Jean Starnes, Ben Jeffcoat, Dan Jeffcoat, Buddy Jeffcoat, and James “Jimmy” Slice.
Mrs. Juanita was a member of King Grove Baptist where she loved attending and worshiping the Lord. She worked at Salley Manufacturing and for Lexington 1 School District where she retired. Mrs. Juanita was well known for her gift of turning junk into treasure. Her and her husband Claude went to all the local flea markets selling their treasure and hunting for their next big find. They also enjoyed going to auctions and even owned their own auction for some time. Mrs. Juanita had a huge heart and was a nurturer. After her mother’s passing, at the age of 28, Mrs. Juanita helped raise her two youngest siblings: Nila Ann and Tommy. Her children had the opportunity to grow up alongside their aunt and uncle, forming a special bond between them all. Mrs. Juanita’s favorite place was on the water with a fishing rod in her hand. She was known for being the best at many things, especially for making the best corn bread around. She will be forever loved and dearly missed.
Visitation will be 11 am - 12 pm on Tuesday March 3, 2026, at King Grove Baptist Church. Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm, also in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
