Florence (deTreville) Jones

Ms. Florence “Flonnie” deTreville Jones, 74, entered into rest on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Flonnie is the mother of Stephanie “Steph” Brooks Lowder and Natalie Jones Davey. She is the widow of the late Henry “Hank” Milton Jones. Flonnie is the grandmother "Nonnie" of Garett Lowder, Matthew Pelletier, and William Davey. She is the daughter of the late Paul Cooper deTreville, Sr. and Marion Smith deTreville. Flonnie is the sister of Paul C. deTreville, Jr. and his wife Joyce, Anne D. deTreville, Rachel Smalley and her husband Donald, Zoanne Jones, Leslie Randall, Frank Boettjer, David Boettjer and his wife Mona, Byron Boettjer and his companion Sandy. Flonnie is the sister-in-law of Kathy Culvern and Rem Jones and his wife Trixie.

Flonnie graduated from Dreher High School and then attended Columbia Commercial College for two years. She worked for SCDMV performing title searches before becoming a Lab Technician and working for Richland Memorial Hospital and later for Lexington School District 1. Flonnie loved to read and work cross word puzzles. Flonnie spent much time watching western shows and Golden Girls. Of course, this time had to include “Cheez-Its”, M&Ms, Fireballs and coffee.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am Saturday April 6, 2024 in the New Holland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
